Description
Zkittlez Regular is listed by Nirvana as a cross of Grape Ape and Grapefruit, an indica-dominant hybrid known for sweet, fruity flavors and thick, trichome-covered buds in green and purple hues. Reported THC runs high, in the 18%-22% range. As a regular strain, she produces both male and female plants, giving growers the option to select phenotypes or save pollen for breeding projects.
She developed a following after winning the High Times Cannabis Cup for best indica in 2015. Her buds carry a sweet-and-sour aroma with notes of berry and lemon.
Indoors, she stays short during vegetative growth and stretches to around 4-5 ft once flowering begins. Flowering takes about 8-10 weeks. Yield potential runs high, up to around 650 g/m² indoors.
Grow info
Zkittlez Regular is low maintenance and a good fit for beginner growers. Because this is a regular strain, growers will need to identify and remove male plants before flowering if seed-free buds are the goal, unless pollen is wanted for breeding.
Indoor growing
Indoors, she stays short during 18/6 and stretches to around 47-60 inches once 12/12 begins. LST and topping help enhance her canopy, a useful trait for growers working with limited height. Good airflow around the plants helps guard against powdery mildew and botrytis. Indoor yield can reach up to about 2.1 oz per square foot.
Outdoor growing
Outdoors, she grows into large plants when given a 16-22 gallon fabric pot and planted in spring. Buds grow thick and dense, so support structures help prevent branches from snapping. Watch for mildew and mold during the final weeks of flowering. Outdoor yield can reach up to around 35.5 oz per plant.
Training and plant care
Topping and tying down work well with this strain. Pruning the lower canopy about a week before flowering helps direct energy to the top buds, and netting or bamboo canes support heavier branches late in flowering. Growers working with regular seeds should check plants closely as flowering begins to spot and remove males early.
